R S J

R e s t a u r a n t

As part of our 30th Anniversary celebrations, RSJ will be breaking with tradition and opening on Sunday 14th February to celebrate St Valentine’s day. The intention this year is to do things a little differently. On this occasion we want to provide a more relaxed atmosphere so that you can enjoy one another’s company to the full without feeling the need to rush away

The restaurant was opened in March 1980 after nine months of hard work to convert a dilapidated 19th Century former stables, which had to be reinforced with several RSJs (rolled steel joists) – hence our name!

Here at RSJ we constantly strive to offer our customers the highest standard of wine and food that we can – whether it be the introduction of outstanding new finds from the Loire or reflecting the changing seasons with the finest fresh produce available.

We have been in The Good Food Guide since 1981 and are proud that we are amongst the Guide’s longest serving restaurants. Close to the South Bank, RSJ has always been popular for pre and post theatre dinners with the kitchen trained to make sure you get to the show on time.

RSJ has become famous for its wine list that concentrates on wines from the beautiful
Loire Valley. We now have over 250 different Loire wines and the list has won a number of awards, both in this country and abroad. The award winning wine list is based upon a network of quality conscious Loire producers – some of whom we have worked with for over 25 years and have become good friends.

In 1996 we set up the RSJ Wine Company to import and sell direct wines that people had enjoyed in the restaurant. Each month we offer a selection of quality wines that are drinking well now. See our special offer for details.

You could just take our word about the quality and ambience of RSJ, but read what the critics have said –
